Mont-Blanc
French to Italian side
Page 3

This page will take us from the French to Italian side of Mont-Blanc.

You make the 5Km trip in very interesting cable cars. The cars are built for four passengers and they are connected into groups of three. There is a distance of about 800 feet between each group. This means that every 800 feet of travel you slow down so that people can board or exit the cars while they are going though the stations on each end.
And because you are traveling between two peaks, the cars are very far up in the air over the snow fields. Several times the cars are 800 to 1000 feet in the air as you cross over mountain top valleys. This makes skiers look very small.
This will show you how far you get into the air. This is a camp with two tents and two people on skies standing next to them.
This is a view of Aiguille De Midi on the French side.
This is the ice fields and crevasses below the central peak of Mont-Blanc. You could drop a semi truck into those openings and have room for lots more.
This is the central peak of Mont-Blanc. The little black spots are people skiing and climbing.
