London, England
Getting there by train.

I took the EuroStar high speed train from Paris to London.
This is a link to a 15 second video clip (with sound) of the train at a speed of 186MPH going through the French countryside. Video clip.
The silver ring is the camera reflecting off the outside pane of double glazed glass. This keeps most of the train noise outside.

Trains pass each other with just a foot or so between them. If two of these trains collided at high speed, it would be like hitting a brick wall at 372 MPH!

The trip from Paris to London takes about 3 hours including the trip through the " Chunnel "( English Channel Tunnel ).

Remember the album cover from Pink Floyds' "Animals"?

This is one of the first major structures you see as you get near Waterloo Station in London.

This is the Duke of York Restaurant. It is located near Buckingham Palace. I had the traditional British meal of "fish and chips" here.

This is Big Ben from the city center.

This is the Tower of London. This is where Henry the VIII had his wives taken care of.

These are the Guards at a side gate to Buckingham Palace.
